2012 Energy-related Bills Status

Senate Bill 374 (PDF) - AN ACT concerning utilities; Kansas corporation commission; rules and regulations; penalties; fees. This amendment was introduced on Feb. 2, 2012 and assigned to the Senate Utilities committee.

Senate Bill 383 (PDF) - AN ACT concerning public utilities; relating to net metering; amending K.S.A. 2011 Supp. 66-1267 and repealing the existing section. It would raise the size of generators subject to net metering for non-residential purposes from 200 kw to 3 MW. This amendment was introduced on Feb. 6, 2012 and assigned to the Senate Utilities committee.

House Bill 2141 (PDF) - AN ACT concerning property; requiring wind and solar agreements to run with surface estate. This amendment was introduced on Feb. 3, 2011 and assigned to the House Utilities committee, and passed this committee on Feb. 23 and referred to the Senate Utilities Committee, and rereferred to several other committees, before getting stalled in the Senate Utilities committee, where it's remained since March 30, 2011..
